Day 4: Universal Studios

The vacation blog returns, seriously delayed, but it is here nonetheless.
Day 4
Disney World '10 482
We hop in a small van to Universal. Since there isn't enough people to garner a bus, the van will do for that morning.
Disney World '10 483
Of course, I have to stop at Starbucks before heading into the park. Jonathan cracks me up here. (It was like a much welcomed freezer in there).
Disney World '10 484
Universal at large.
Disney World '10 485
Disney World '10 486
Islands of Adventure from a distance. I miss Harry Potter World already.
Disney World '10 488
Disney World '10 489
The first ride of the day is Rip Ride Rock It. Sick sick sick.
Disney World '10 490
Disney World '10 494
You go straight up. Again, sick!
When you get off the ride, you can not only buy your picture but also a copy of your ride! You set which song you want to hear before the ride begins (and once you're in your seat). I picked Daft Punk's Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger but ultimately ended up not buying the video, though it was hilarious watching Jonathan & I scream our heads off.
Disney World '10 499
Monster Cafe. We didn't dine here but Wilfredo tells us next time we should check this place out.
Disney World '10 501
Disney World '10 503
Disney World '10 505
Once we saw this guy, we knew we had to get a photo with him.
Disney World '10 507
The Mummy, btw, is one of my favorite rides at Universal. Did you know? The Mummy used to be the popular King Kong attraction and you can still see Kong right before the ride ends (if you're paying attention, that is).
Disney World '10 510
Fierce.
Disney World '10 513
Disney World '10 515
I make for an awkward Cleopatra!
Disney World '10 517
Disney World '10 521
Disney World '10 522
Disney World '10 526
Well...what did you expect LOL
Disney World '10 529
Disney World '10 531
The Simpsons Ride at a distance.
Disney World '10 532
Love the entrance.
Disney World '10 535
Very cool interior/waiting area.
Disney World '10 537
We got lucky this year; the line was practically empty. Last year there was quite a wait.
Disney World '10 545
It's definitely one of my favorites. If you're ever been on Back to the Future (the ride The Simpsons replaced) it's just like that.
Disney World '10 546
Random Duff "beer" (actually, an energy drink) found in a drink bin.
Disney World '10 548
Haha, darn straight.
Disney World '10 550
For lunch, we decided to do Finnegan's Bar & Grill.
Disney World '10 552
Disney World '10 553
Disney World '10 555
Some of the best Irish soda bread I've ever had in my life. A thumbs up all around.
Disney World '10 559
I snuck a shot over to the other side of the restaurant. At first glance, I thought they were looking my way but in reality, the TVs showing the FIFA World Cup were playing behind me.
Disney World '10 567
MIB's format is one of my favorites. It's like Toy Story Midway Mania in the sense that it's a game where you shoot at something and rack up points.
Disney World '10 568
That's one way to cool off.
Disney World '10 569
Of course, we had to stop for a photo with Homer.
Disney World '10 571
This guy is getting strangled by Homer, LOL.
Disney World '10 572
ET.
Disney World '10 573
JD phone home?
Disney World '10 574
Beautiful skies on a hot hot day.
Disney World '10 575
Definitely have to try this place on one of our next visits.
Disney World '10 578
Disney World '10 580
Marilyn makes an appearance.
Disney World '10 583
And Lucy (sans Ricky) too.
Disney World '10 590
Haha. Once again, he passes out on the ride home :-P
Disney World '10 596
Once we get back, we have to dress for dinner that night. I happily sport my new Gryffindor shirt from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Disney World '10 600
In order to get to Animal Kingdom Lodge, another Disney hotel, we have to catch a bus there from a park, so we choose Hollywood Studios. They have neat soda machines that have been there for the past 10 years (this fact brought to you by Wilfredo LOL)
Disney World '10 603
We have arrived at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Already, the atmosphere feels safari like.
Disney World '10 605
Disney World '10 606
Beautiful lodge.
Disney World '10 609
Jambo.
Disney World '10 610
Loving the decor when we first walked in.
Disney World '10 617
Disney World '10 620
We waited outside for our table to be ready and caught the gorgeous sky as the sun set.
Disney World '10 623
Disney World '10 625
Disney World '10 630
Ostrich! With a zebra in the background.
Disney World '10 635
Bar portion of the restaurant. I so so wanted to try one of the special cocktails but couldn't because of the antibiotics I was on the duration of the trip. Big fat BOO.
Disney World '10 636
Hidden Mickey!
Disney World '10 637
Their dessert sampler was out of this world. The chai pudding was my favorite. The main course was beyond amazing as well. I had the tandoori chicken and Jonathan had the ribs. Easily the standout meal of the trip. That's saying a lot too, because the food in Disney World is top notch.
Disney World '10 640
After dinner we went upstairs to see what it looks like by the rooms. Of course, we couldn't look inside the rooms but we did get to check out the hallway.
After we returned to the hotel, we promptly passed out. As thrilling & fun as the days are, by the end you just want to fall asleep LOL.
