Although I love home dearly, what I wouldn't give to be on vacation still! Between park hopping, fine dining, swimming late at night and spending 6 days and 5 nights with a handsome fella...I had no complaints.
Day 1
All packed & ready the night before.
Chris was kind enough to take us to the airport. The funny part is, we kept asking Chris the day before if he was absolutely sure he was up for it. After all, we needed to be on the road by 5:30 the latest. Chris assured us he wouldn't had offered if he didn't think he could. The kicker? WE woke up late and Chris ended up waiting a good 15-20 minutes outside. :-X
The shirt is appropriate for our destination, LOL.
Airport lines...bleh.
Awaaay we go.
Couldn't help but feel bad for this poor stuffed animal.
We pretty much documented the whole trip but in a video blog kind of style.
Sooo excited to be going here during our trip. This wouldn't be until Day 2.
Disney's Magical Express is a great service to use while staying on a Disney resort.
Pop Century, here we come!
Ahhh...home away from home.
Pop Century at a glance.
Twister
My birth year
Passing by his birth year.
Pretty darn cool yo-yo staircase.
Pop Century consists of what they call the "classic years": 50's-90's. Last year we ended up in the 50s, this year we got what we requested: the 80s.
Checking out the memorabilia.
The bus stops that take you to each park. Where is our destination this afternoon...?
Magic Kingdom!
We had reservations at The Plaza for lunch.
Jonathan is all ready to chow down.
As am I.
Lunch was delicious but this float wasn't so bad either!!
My first time on Space Mountain! It was closed last year. They were adding a new track to it.
On line for Pirates of the Caribbean.
Argh, matey.
A friend of mine joked, "I think he needs a tissue" after seeing this, LOL.
Back at our hotel, we were finally able to check into our room. Last year we got lucky and was able to get it right away. This year, we had to go to the park first in our airplane clothes. Kind of a bummer but good thing we didn't wait around.
What is this, you may ask? A handicapped bathroom? That's right...we were given the wrong room, LOL. We would have to wait until the following morning to change rooms. For now we were left taking the most awkward shower ever.
Epcot for dinner? Don't mind if we do!
We are in Mexico for the night. Our reservations are for the San Angel Inn, a personal favorite. I can never seem to order the right thing there though.
The interior is stunning.
The first of many restaurant photos. Jonathan was on a mission to get one in every place we dined.
Flan for dessert. SO SO good.
Mexico's ride.
My mom wants a copy of this photo, LOL. For some reason that amuses me. She's too cute.
The market place.
Satisfied after a good meal.
Epcot is stunning at night.
Upclose.
Back at the hotel and ready for bed.
All in all, Day 1 got an A+.
