Day 3
We were feeling the effects of waking up early the past few days so we took it easy before heading to Hollywood Studios. Not too easy though, as breakfast was to be had. It seems like vacation is the one time where breakfast seems exciting. Who can resist those Mickey waffles, anyway?!
Jonathan is sporting his Bret Hart shirt this trip. Last year, he wore Santino. Let me tell you, the closet wrestling fans come out of the woodwork when you're walking around with a wrestling tee.
Mhmm, Mickey. Waffles. Heaven.
One of the first things we see upon arriving at Hollywood Studios is the concerts going on. High School Musical 3 is all the rage that afternoon and I quickly attempted to take a photo with the camera drapped across my chest and my hands full. The result? A crooked photo.
Our first stop is Toy Story Midway Mania. I originally wanted a FastPass but the return time was way too late. Plus, luck was on our side and the line wasn't as long as last year's was.
There were some pretty neat things to look at while we waited.
What I love about Disney is that there's always something to celebrate. My favorite are the pins that you can sport during your stay there, showing what you're celebrating. I think it's neat.
The talking & singing Mr. Potato Head.
And did I mention, the game is in 3D format?
He beat me this time around.
I wasn't feeling the new stuffed toys. They were kind of...creepy.
The Great Movie Ride. An instant classic.
The Wizard of Oz.
Creepy Munchkin in window.
Uncle Walt himself.
LOL. I made him pose with that. (Outside of the American Idol Experience)
We stopped at a gift shop to cool off and I found this gem: a visor from Animal Kingdom. Pretty cute, huh?
One of my favorite Disney rides. Actually, it could be my all time favorite ride there.
The wait wasn't too bad.
Can you spot us? LOL
On line for Aerosmith's Rock n Rollercoaster. Easily one of my favorites but the line is always THE WORST. Long, no escape from the sun until you get inside and just brutal. It's funny how you can't tell how miserable we are waiting in this picture, LOL.
It's pretty damn cool once you get in (literally and figuratively).
BRB...LOLing forever.
We took the Backlot Tour, another easy favorite.
My favorite part of the tour. You witness live special effects.
Jonathan manages to get wet, LOL.
For dinner, we had reservations at one of our all time favorites.
A very scary incident happened while dining here. Since each table is basically a car, you are sitting with other people, but facing their backs. Jonathan and I were in the very last row and a family was sitting in front of us: the two parents and then the young son in the very front. Halfway through dinner, I noticed the wife motioned for the husband to pound her back, as she had something lodged in her throat. Every time he pounded, she shook her head, indicating it wasn't working. Finally, after the fifth time of watching that happen, I realized the situation was turning serious. The woman was seriously choking! I turned around and found the nearest waiter, taking the neighboring car's order. I yelled as loud as I could without waking up the dead, "Waiter! The woman is choking!" He ran right over to us but luckily, she had coughed up whatever it was that was stuck. She turned to thank me after awhile. I could tell she was shook up (well who wouldn't be?) Thankfully it all worked out okay.
Another night concert.
I stayed and watched the dance party while Jonathan went to shop.
How sweet.
The night sky was just stunning. I couldn't help but keep snapping pictures.
One of my favorite purchases from the trip: baseball Mickey.
That night, we took advantage of the Magic Hours I wrote about in a previous day. Magic Kingdom was open until 3am that night and considering we only went on about 2 rides the first day there, we knew had to make up for it. Magic Kingdom at night is one of my favorite parts about the trip, if I had to choose. I left my camera at the hotel for it, to give myself a break, but Jonathan took his camera. Here's one picture from that night. :)
Heh, a Bret "Hitman" Hart t-shirt AND an Iron Man mask. Nerdom is off the charts in that picture :-)
